I am looking for expressions of interest for my Takahashi NJP mount.

I am getting a larger mount later in the year perhaps June perhaps Sept and I will know more clearly in a little while. So this is a bit early to advertise perhaps but I thought it may be of interest to someone who is planning an upgrade in a while also.

I bought the mount new about 4 years ago. It has a lovely Robin Cassady saddle (the mounts don't come with saddles and Cassady saddles are the bees knees - sping loaded fully anodised aluminium and never slips).

It has 5 counterweights. The mount new comes with only 2. 5 is enough to run an RCOS12.5 inch (ran one on this mount for a few years) or a TEC180 scope.

I think these mounts improve with age in that the gears seem to run in and become smoother over time. I know these days I get very very low errors when guiding. I am talking .01 to .2 as a range with an average of perhaps .15.

This one is Temma 11. I have the Chuck Faranda driver (it is free) that runs it using the Sky. Using the mount is simplicity itself. You move the scope to a known star like one of the Pointers, get it centred and synch. As long as your polar alignment is good then go-tos should now work or be quite close. Easy.

Polar alignment scope has an illuminated reticle (needs a new battery - its brand new as I never used it). The NJP polar alignment scope is well known for its high accuracy.

Overall it is in good condition, a few paint chips. A couple of the counterweights need a bit of paint and others are in good condition.
I coated the gears with teflon grease.

I paid around AUD$9000 for all of this or thereabouts, I'd accept $5,500.
