NEQ6 - tracking problems?

I am having a small problem with my mount.

I have been using a webcam to polar align and I have noticed that when I make RA adjustments on the hand controller (to centre a star), the star keeps on moving in the direction that I made that adjustment (perhaps around 30 arc seconds but this is a complete guess).

I have also noticed (when observing star drift) that the centred star randomly/periodically moves in RA by about the same amount mentioned above (it’s hard to tell whether the intervals between that movement is periodic or random). I understand that there will always be RA drift due to tracking speed, but this is more of a short burst of big random movement.

The DEC is fine (ie, when I press up/down on the hand controller, it stops moving as soon as I lift my finger).

I don’t know if this is related at all, but I have noticed some slight stiffness in a particular spot in the RA axis when moving the RA manually.

Just to note, I make sure everything is well balanced when setting up.

Any help much appreciated.
