As a working member of the media ... both electronic and print, I can say there really wasn't much of a problem there.
Sure, it was larrikin and a little irreverent, but other than that... harmless. AS far as being potentially defamatory or the grounds for litigation? The Golden Rule for anyone deliberating over something like this is: In the minds of MOST people, would it give cause to demean, undermine or damage their standing or reputation?
I saw the posts and thought they were just innocent fun. Someone having a bit of a joke but at no time did I get the sense S&S was being ridiculed or held up for contempt. And that's the bottom line.
You can make as much of a case about something as you want but in the end it comes down to how seriously you take a little bit of fun.
But ... I will defend our moderators and their efforts to represent
everyone's values and interests.
