Just to follow-up on John's comments, I was kindly taken around on an inside
tour of the modern Tele Vue facility in the pretty little town of Chester, which is in
up-state New York.
All eyepieces are manufactured to Tele Vue's demanding standards in either Taiwan
or Japan. They were making their telescopes in the Chester facility. Al kindly
demonstrated to me some of the gear they use for optical testing.
Tele Vue is a family run business.
