i have a 8' GSO newt, & have had skywatcher 12" in the past..honestly i dont see much differwence at the ep - collimation is the important thing..there are always going to be 1 or 2 bad scopes of a type out of a big bunch..when you references the other thread the following applies
gso 8" f6 1200 focal loength
magnification 25mm = 1200/25 = 48x 9mm = 133x, 6mm =200x
fov of each eyepiece (plossl) is uaually ~50 deg
so fov at eyepiece is 48/5- = almost 1 deg view, 50/133 = `2/5 of 1 deg , 50/200 = 1/4 of a dgree
