Lake Eppalock timelapse with Fred's timemachine

after my presentation at IISAC last year, Fred (Bassnut) got inspired to build me a control system for my timelapse toys. i previously had just an azimuth stepper motor on my Bintel Alt-Az mount, but Fred has developed an all singing, all dancing timelapse machine (some people may have seen Fred with his copy at SPSP also). like most of these projects, i'm sure Fred thought it would be easy at first but i'm pretty sure he doesn't want to count the hours he's spent on it now. anyway, after receiving the machine and adapting motors to fit the mount i got my first chance to play with it last weekend during a workshop i was running at Lake Eppalock (the lake was full the first time in more than 10 years).

i also built myself a very rough and ready dolly out of timber and pvc pipe, and for this second sequence had switched the azimuth motor to reel in the dolly instead:

(you can select various video resolutions to suit your bandwidth..)

so thanks to Fred for making this possible. it seems he's ok with imaging at >2500mm and <25mm. in between, not so much http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/....s/tongue05.gif
