NGC 3293 with modified Sony NEX-5 and 22" Dob

Hi All,

SPSP was very enjoyable and on the way back we stopped at a dark site near Albury for some more imaging and observing.

The Gem cluster is my daughter's favourite and I wanted to image it for a while. The new modified (with UV-IR cutoff filter) Sony NEX-5 performed well.

The ServoCat driven Dob works best with objects at around 45 degrees altitude and I was able to get 92 good subs out of 150. Below is a very quick processing in DeepSkyStacker and curves adjustment in Photoshop. I am sure I will re-process this image when I get more time and get to know the modified sensor better.

NGC 3293: 22" SDM Dob, Sony NEX-5-A, 92x15sec ISO 3200.
Image scale: 23.2'x34.8'
I attached the small image and the full-size image is here:

Cheers,
Alex
