SPSP Solar Images - Saturday 2 April 2011

When I was observing on Saturday I had no idea of the orientation of the Sun, active regions or any recent activity – but the Sun was beautiful in the Ha red! I often forget to ‘look’ as I really enjoy imaging but I had time today.

There were some very contrasty filaments, some active regions and two triangular prominences. After viewing significant changes over two hours it was time to bring out DMK31.

‘Ol Fishy had developed into a fish over the hours and then disappeared in just one hour as I was imaging – image 1 & image 2 series – a leaping trout viewing the AR????

The really dark filament was in chip view with an AR???? – image 3 - Coming or going?

The seeing varied but some of the data was pretty good – Lunty is very forgiving due to its aperture.

Next the smudge – image 4 - a tad dull – but worth the time.

I knew there were prominences so I had a go at two – I struggle with proms but image 5 is the best I could do.

Having had no Internet I know there will be heaps of great images to see as I post – thanks in advance!

Sunday processing for later!
