I have no issue with Ebay. I did get ripped off once when buying a lens ($900), but Paypal reimbursed me as I had paid through them and therefore had their 'buyer protection'. I was VERY happy with their service.
My biggest Ebay purchase was over $10k, from a US based seller, and this was before any of the buyer protection systems were in place. I was a bit nervous until the package arrived!
