Its difficult to hum a drum solo (tho' inadhadadavida is one of the exceptions). I'm not entirely sure I'm comfortable with "beating it out on anything handy". Particularly in public.
I did have a couple of mates at High School and Uni who were band drummers and they were
always playing a solo!
