I found the source of the bright spot.. it's a smudge on the IR filter that I tried to clean with the lens pen..
Here's a tip.. lens pen doesn't clean filters.. it just leaves a smudgey mark.
Will have to clean it properly tonight with some tissue paper and cleaning solution.
