The conspicuous NGC2403- DSLR

Not much to show for here, I only had time to take 5 frames of 300 seconds at ISO1600 on this little conspicuous galaxy. I don’t think a 750mm scope at f7.5 does it justice… but thought I’d process it just the same and post the result.

All images, including calibration images, where acquired with BackyardEOS

I had 63 darks matching this target in my dark library which resulted in a very smooth background. I’ll probably add more frames when the sky clears up.


Telescope: Orion EON 120mm ED
Mount: SkyWatcher NEQ6 Pro
Guiding: Orion 80ST, SSAG, PHD
Camera: Canon Digital 40D (modified by HyperCams)
FF/FR: Astro-Tech 2” field flatner
Filter: IDAS

Exposures: 6 x 300 seconds @ ISO 1600

TOTAL: 0 hour 30 minutes

Acquisition: BackyardEOS – RAW
Stacking: DeepSkyStacker – 63 Darks, 25 Bias, and 15 Flats applied
Post-processing: Photoshop, NeatImage
