I roast & grind my own coffee so I do get "fresh as". I buy quality beans only, use quality equipment & produce quality coffee IMHO.
I guess I'm old fashion in this respect, but "quick & convenient" don't usually go with "quality" in most things in life.
Once you try a REALLY good coffee there's no turning back.
I do enjoy making coffee, love the whole process, the smell, the visual experience.
You don't get that with pod coffee.

My 2 cents worth...
Fresh as?, well yes. pod coffee is vacuum sealed in the pod in what, 3 milliseconds, I cant tell the diff. And anyway, even if there is some microscopic difference, the convieniece far outways the the robotic effort required for the self ground gear, if you can bother each and every time. And then there is the immediate availability of 20 different varieties.

Have you actually tried pod coffee?.
