I like bookshops and I like browsing books on shelves so I take no delight in seeing Borders go to the wall but its not hard to see why its happening. I was in Borders Brisbane today and was flicking through a book I really liked the look of, ''The Illustrated Guide to Astronomical Wonders'', but at $71 i was a bit hesitant and decided to look online for a price comparison.
I ended up ordering it on Amazon for $2.06 AUD + $12.00 AUD shipping

I may end up waiting a couple of weeks to get my hands on it but it was no contest pricewise.
Its really sad but physical bookshops just cant compete with that.
