For Visual, why not try for the dust lane in NGC 3628 and the spiral arms of NGC 2442 and NGC 2997.

The Dark Doodle is a good one, one of the best dark nebs out there. As a bonus, the globular cluster NGC 4372 lies at its southern end. Also a good opportunity to hunt down NGC 1999 in Orion, a remarkable reflection nebula which features a striking T-shaped dark globule that can be picked up in dark skies and moderate apertures.

Also some more obscure/rarely observed emission nebulae to try for include IC 2948-the Running Chicken in Centaurus, NGC 3199 in Carina and Cederblad 122, lying just on the western edge of the coalsack, the Vela SNR/Gum Nebula and IC 2177.
