I had similar issues with the cheapish one I used to use Tim. I put my illuminated reticle eyepiece in the top, and rotated that so one of the "arms" of the crosshair pointed in the direction of the centre of field. On mine it was 2/3 of the way out from the centre of the reticle, but I could get images into the middle of the narrow field guide camera pretty well most of the time.
This was all part of my initial pre imaging set up on a decent bright star to check it. Be nice to have the proper 845 Meade mirror with adjusting screws, but I couldn't justify that much on a mirror.
