Hmm, I’m a little rusty with the DMK as well as Registax & AVIStack, as I haven’t used the camera and those applications in over 12 months (Registax 5 and AVIStack v1.8), so my choices are based on these limitations.
I used to experience problems with files larger than 1 Gb, although I understand R5 overcame that. However, given the age of my PC, I stick with 1250 frames which gives me a manageable file size of around 950 Mb.
My general experience has been that if I can harvest some 400-800 frames from a 1250 frame file, I can usually produce a reasonable image that will withstand Wavelet processing and minor tweaks in Photoshop.
