Registar - stacking widefield images

Hi guys.

Anyone use Registar? I know Bert does, hopefully he can help me.

It's a great program, so good at aligning and combining images.

I've got 3x60s shots of Orion from last night, and want to know the best method to combine them..

I've used "Average" and "Sum".. What is the difference, what do they actually do?

Is "Average" like a Registax Stacking, ie: it doesn't do any processing?

I've noticed that "Sum" seems to do some processing, like adding the weight of all the pixels in each image as it comes out much brighter, almost overprocessed.

Appreciate any help.
