After months of fighting with my polar mounted 14" LX200 GPS, I finally have it under control. To do this I had to:
- Upload Dick Seymours latest Autostar patch: http://rseymour.home.wolfenet.com/patches/
- Use PEMPro to improve the PEC
- Use PEMPro to polar align the scope to within a min of perfect in both axes
- Run through a full cycle of smart mount correction
Step 4 is vital to ensure that the flexure of the forks is accounted for when pointing away from the meridian (Meade don't pretend that the forks are remotely strong enough thankfully, and have included this function to help).
I am beginning to get close to +/- 10 mins in much of the sky which is nearly as good as my 20" Dob can get. A few more runs of smart mount correction will further help I recon.
