Hey jen ... It actually does wonders in blocking out a lot of the thunder!! One huge flash of lightning was IMMEDIATELY followed a huge crackle then BOOM, very close.

OK, looks like I have to ditch my brand new Uniden cordless phone with answering machine - I hadnt even set it up properly, Oh well could have been worse, and been the telly or laptop.
