I had a bunch of floaters appear suddenly a few years ago. It turned out to be Retinoschisis, a separation of the layers of the retina like a little blister. Fortunately, it wasn't in a position that affected my vision and it's not normally a progressive condition. Still, the floaters were annoying until I learned to mostly tune them out. I still occasionally think I see a mosquito or fly out of the corner of my eye!
Cheers,
Rick.
