Yamba Holiday Snaps

Howdy all,

The family and I went away after Christmas. We managed to escape the weather of SEQ and found some sunshine in Yamba. Had a great holiday doing as much nothing as possible - highly recommend it as a destination.

Anyway, here are some pics that I took. There are a mixture of shots including: sunrise, sunset, stitched pano & infra-red. I bought a cheap Infra-red filter ($20) and also a 9 stop ND filter on eBay before Christmas. Two of the Sunrise shots were taken with the ND filter. I didn't get the classic "smokey" rock shots that I was after, but hopefully I'll get a chance to do that later in the year.

I'm quite happy with the pano shot - I paid attention to getting the tripod level and then the camera level with an hot-shoe level ($3.99 inc postage on ebay!) . It seems to have prevent any distortion in the stitching process. I shot the pano with the camera in portrait orientation - the resulting file is huge, but the detail is magnificient.

I processed the infra-red one to create a "pseudo-colour" image by reversing the Red & Blue layers in Channel mixer on PS.

I also got a chance to take some great pics of my kids in the park, but I won't bore you with those...

C&C always welcome - especially if you think I have overdone any of my processing!

Ta for looking,
DT
