Sidonio time!!
Since the seeing was no better than 2-3 arcsecs on the night, I thought I might be able to get away with adding an hours worth of synthetic Lum (ie adding in desaturated RGB as Luminance). Being binned 2x2 I still needed to do some decon, but I did end up with better S/N. Not a massive difference but quite noticeable.
