The field curvature is due to the zoom lens. I don't think zooming in will help. Stopping down might, but then you will lose exposure.
The best solution is go on ebay and get a 2nd hand Pentax wide angle or standard fixed focal length lens. You will get better quality and greater exposure.

Is that the Crab Nebula in the bottom left?

In the very old old days (early 80's) of B&W film, to get this would have been a real triumph

Thanks Mike. I'm not up to the RGB thing yet. I'm pretty sure the stars would bloat without the Ha filter on.
