I see, thanks Paul. I mainly use the lamps with the repellent candle inside, about 5 metres away from the scope. I find the fumes with the candle style not annoying, but I do hope it doesn't harm any optics. This summer though, I will be following Nettie's suggestion with the fan - those lamp candles are very expensive and I was going through a whole candle a night last summer.
