Apfel Strudel (350D and high ISO monochrome conversions = joy!)

I went to an apple strudel making class at the wonderful Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna.

The old Canon 350D was a remarkable camera for its time and I am enamoured with the look and feel of images that it gives when shot in harsh and difficult lighting conditions at high ISO (ISO-1600) and then converted to monochrome. I also like the way the coloured image has turned out with film-like saturation.

While the 5D Mark II is an overall better camera, I don't think I'm quite able to achieve the same feel of grain until shooting with exceedingly high ISO's which is an uncommon occurance.

All images un-processed (no Photoshop) save for white balance and monochrome conversion in Canon's Digital Photo Professional. Love RAW latitude.

In case you were wondering, the strudel was absolutely delicious.

All shots: Canon EOS 350D, Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

Jason, do you still have my old 350D? Can I have it back? : P
