Introduction from Gold Coast
Howdy to all Astro-lianos; well, Ive been a casual astronomer since mid 1970, During the late 80's & early 90's I ground and polished about a doz mirrors from 6 - 10 inch's and hand constructed the newt dobs for them, which I learnt alot about from some very experienced members from the SAS ( Southern Astronomical Society ) SE Queensland in which I am still a member.
Approx 3 yrs ago I have built a 3 x 4m double sliding roof Observatory ( the Bob'servatory ) which is located at Leyburn, which some of you will know. Leyburn is approx 60k SW of Toowoomba in which i do my utmost to visit every new moon when it is cloud free, Lol, yep, QLD, cloudy one day, raining the next.
Most of my gear is not of the best quality but serves me well and have produced many an ok image with the 400D and have recently been dabbling with some small scale planetary imaging.
I hope to increase my post account throughout the forum, get to know others and share in this fast growing hobby;
Kind Rgrds , Bob
