Hi Ron, it's all about choice really, you're absolutely right there. I won't argue.
Just do this little exercise for me. It won't hurt your facebook profile, don't worry. Go through the procedure of de-registering (i.e. opting out). When it is done and you have received the confirmation email, go back to
www.facebook.com and type in your (old) login details and see what happens.
