Nice sharp data but simply not enough exposure time. I have this happen to me all the time where I try to boost an image beyond the level of the data.
You got some nice data there. Its just not enough. Hard with the wet weather pattern we've had for nearly a year now.
Interesting comment about the stars oversaturated. I haven't always checked that as I tend to use 10 minute subs as standard. But you are right sometimes images with lots of bright stars can be hard to extract colour in them if they are overexposed.
