Hmm;
Ever bought a brand-new DVD, taken it home and found that it simply refuses to play uninterrupted through to the end ? (Compatibility issues .. there's lots of them, folks).
I have.
I took it back to the shop (Big W). Had a massive argument, as it seemed to work Ok in their DVD players. There were no probs with any other DVDs in any of my players ... except for this particular, newly purchased DVD.
I eventually did get a refund by taking the line that it was simply not "fit for purpose" (aka: viewing), and I didn't care what their policy was, or what their sign said. 'Twas not a particularly pleasant experience.
I notice (now) that most of the big stores display a sign that says:
"DVD purchases will not be refunded (or swapped)".
Just how enforceable is this policy ?
