Rob, I have the Herald-Bobroff Astro Atlas. I have scanned 'parts of' a couple of the 'E' charts which show the LMC in great details. The prob. is that the scans lose res if I resize then below about 200k. If you want the 4 sections let me know & I can email them. (978kb, 390kb, 420kb & 538kb). Might give you something to work with. Tried to get overlaps but stuck for space on scanner. (only A4).
