Portable: A load of 5.78A on your 17Ahr battery is going to exhaust it in just under 3 hours. Re-read the threads on deep cycle batteries, but they will cost you more.
Mains: Your average 12V plug pack will only go up to 1A so you will need to spend more on a decent power supply.
