Ken,
it looks like you have sorted out a solution.
I did this years ago too, I made a 'homemade Nikon bayonet' adaptor
several times over to enable me to use my Nikon series of SLR
lenses for years with a modded set of webcams.
Worked well for years capturing LX deep sky and planetary stuff,
comets etc. Pic attached of 2 modded webcams with Nikon bayonets.
In hindsight I would probably suggest just making a 1.25" drawtube
adaptor or T-thread adaptor and go straight to the scope.
