Help fo a Yr 12 Physics student.

Hi,

I have posted this in another area as I am unsure which forum to post this in.
I have a student who is doing a rocket launching assignment and is looking at the theory of getting a rocket into space. He is looking at trying to amalgamate the theory of mass loss during launch to acceleration and also including the changing atmospheric pressure and well as varying gravity at heights. He is trying to come up with one equation that can determine the velocity at various heights but ends up with too many varibles. Any advice if this is actually possible as the maths involved exceed my ability.
