Hi Hans,
let me chip in.
For a start I don't have a Mewlon, but I have a DK Cass. from AO.
The optical difference is only that my primary is f4 not f3.
IMHO forget laser. The Mewlon secondary has a central mark for the TAK coll. scope. No reflection back to square the secondary.
I think if you collimate the secondary with a helper, using the TAK scope, then put the primary as close as you can, then just do the rest at zenith on a star. But use only the primary for collimation and mag. around 800x to see the Airy disk and diff. rings. Put the star image in the corner where is "more" concentric, then "pull" it back with the appropriate coll. screw.
It will work.
