You wouldn't believe in how much of the same situation I am now (including the out-of-control beard). I just committed myself to StarTools full-time, in order to bring my 10+ tools to the big three platforms with a GUI.
I already know from experience that becoming an independent software publisher/vendor is a very risky thing to do and financially only makes sense if you have a unique product and the goodwill of a large enough user base (and an understanding partner
).
But if you believe you got something that sets you apart from all the other stuff that's out there, then you owe it to yourself to try!
