My local mail contractor is excellent. Always rings the doorbell and knocks, giving me enough time to get to the door before driving off.
He always has time for a chat and comments if it's been a while between deliveries.
He's even been known to leave small items in a box I leave on the front verandah rather than leave a card, even though he shouldn't
And this is in suburban Sydney!
