Managed to capture a few images in the wee hours of this morning, of this comet.
It is still a N.Hem object as very low on our northern horizon, in the murky atmosphere.
Comet Hartley 2 is closest to us on October 20, and reaches perihelion 8 days later. It was predicted to reach mag 5.5.
I was unable to see the comet naked eye, but could in my binoculars (11x70) as a faint round nebulous region. No tail seen, though would have been better in a scope.
Pics taken with 450D on tripod, at 1600ISO/30sec/f2.8.
There are many images coming through in N.Hem forums, but not many here yet, though Martin P had a great image in the Deep Sky section in Perseus Double Cluster.
