The general consensus is that Venus shows most detail in the uv and mono cameras can pick up uv. With a reflector and a mono camera using a uv filter you should have no problem picking out detail on Venus. There could be a problem for refractors, since glass does not transmit uv very well, but Venus is so bright that you can probably get a good image with a uv filter, even with a refractor. You can get these filters from Bintel. I'm not sure what will happen with a osc camera, because I don't know how much of the uv the blue Bayer filter rejects.
