Hi there

Hi, I have been reading various threads for a while and decided to bite the bullet and register. I am very new to astronomy so excuse my ignorance if I blurt out with something that makes no sense.

I still have my first Telescope that I was given for Christmas back in the 60's, a Tasco 66te. It still resides in its original box complete with all the original manuals and reference material. To my uneducated eye it actually produces a nice little image (Saturn & Jupiter complete with moons) however the original mount is absolute crap as it is almost impossible to adjust particularly at high magnification.

My younger son (12) has a mild interest in astronomy but the old setup proves to frustrating and interest is lost to quickly. So I am now on the hunt for something a little more user friendly.
