I sometimes fear a bit with the miners harassing them but the Herron is a BIG bird so can probably deal with it

YOU are right Frank, they are quite used to Humans and their actions, I have seen them on the Median Strip on the Bruce Highway , with Vehicles zooming along in both directions and they don't seem to take a blind bit of notice,just feeding happily away.
It must be a great pleasure watching the family grow up and leave the nest
then see it happen again the next year
