Hi all,

I know there's been threads on this subject before, but I'm interested in an update.

I'm upgrading my old Pentax K100D, and was considering getting a 50D (and 15-85 EF-S IS USM lens). Question is, how does this camera perform in long exposures for astrophotography, compared with something like a 40D? For instance, has anyone used the 50D for star trails with hundreds of 30sec exposures? Or would you recommend an alternative body? (I'm not really interested in movies, and would prefer a stronger built body, so I think the 50D would suit me better than the 550D.)
