Wow, thanks so much for the well-wishes, guys. Most appreciated!
Although, the stars didn't make a showing at Border Stargaze, Doug the sneaky bugger got the caterers to make a cake for me and had it presented/brought out after dinner when everyone was in the dining/chillout hall. I was a little stunned when everyone broke out into Happy Birthday. Thanks so much, Doug. It was very touching. : )
As for presents/glass, I indulged myself in a Televue 2" 2x POWERMATE. This will allow me to image with the FSQ-106N at 1060mm at f/10, which is slightly longer than the Extender-Q 1.6x at 800mm at f/8. Although, a bit slower, it'll provide more reach (Fred says "yay!") than my old 5" North Group APO (952mm at f/7.5).
I think I'm going to start saving for a house now that I'm starting to get more photography work and print sales of my landscapes. I'm thinking a nice little house and some land in the outer regions of Canberra (50-60 km away).
