[The Mekon (John Briggs)]

I have just made an impulse purchase on ebay, snapping up what I thought was a Nagler 7mm type6 for $227. After I hit the pay button, I thought ‘did I check what type this eyepiece is?” Sure enough its a late type 1 – mint in box, but I am a bit concerned that it is not the later series. I have always been happy with my 9mm type 1, less so with the 4.8mm, but stoked with the 13mm type 6.
Anyone care to offer an opinion as to the merits of each type. 7mm type1 vs 7mm type6?
I had hoped to rationalise my eyepiece kit to 7, 13 Nagler and 27 panoptic, each one doubling the previous. Whether I will keep the 4.8 and 9, is yet to be determined.
