So true Bird, John Rogers tells me that I am the only one sending data from the whole of Eastern Australia. He says even this level of data is better than none, makes me feel a bit better.

The detail in these is pretty good for crook conditions in my opinion. I'd rate the conditions up here in QLD as an order of magnitude worse than crook this year (c__p comes to mind).

Thanks Peter, reckon I could come up with quite a few variations within the "Crookness" scale, based on what has been dished up since the end of June.

Certainly enjoyed the Astrofest, I think its the people that I ran into rather than the weather that made it so enjoyable but it is such a very long way from Broken Hill.

Thanks John, regarding the 807nm IR filter, it really helps having a 16" primary with that filter, probably the 742nm is better suited to a smaller aperture although Bird, who has both of these filters, still often uses the 742nm with his 14.5" primary. That may change when he gets his 16" operational.
