40 solar mass star....this all depends on how much mass it loses in its Wolf Rayet stage. If that star lost enough mass it could conceivably become small enough to be a neutron star/magnetar progenitor before it went supernova. The mass loss would determine just how much mass the core finally had before it went bang.
