For whatever reason there is a problem, I'm sure it will be dealt with, but I agree Bryan, you have really hit the nail. I started using a UPS last year after experiencing problems the year before. It has saved me many times in the past two years.
I'll be going heavy duty next year. 75 AH battery on continuous trickle charge and leave the UPS to the sensitive stuff. The UPS kept my mount, camera, USB hub ticking away until the power returned. Power came back on I knew where I was and that what I was imaging was right where I left it. A big feeling of relief.
Plus it wouldn't hurt for our gear, especially 240V leads and powerboards get a check now and then.
