Yes, it is interesting to compare these things. We purchased a few iPads for work, then thought it was a good idea to get an iPed and compare.
The packaging and the device itself are all identical to the iPad. But there is a hugh difference in the operation.
The iPed is slow (painfully so), it gets very warm, and a few of the installed applications are literally in Chinese. The battery doesn't last nearly as long, and it is a pain to install new apps.
But at $249, it is a rather cheap alternative.
