Just received this email from John Sarkissian, the organiser of the Malin Awards regarding the exhibition of winning photos. I'll have to try to get to Sydney now! They are also being shown at a few other locations around the Eastern states over the next year so get along for a look if you can (see CWAS website for details).
"Hello all,
The 2010 CWAS "David Malin Awards" will be launched at Sydney Observatory
tomorrow night, Friday 13 August, in a low-key event coinciding with their
'Lucky Friday planetary spectacular' event.
However, I'm informed by the Powerhouse Museum, that the formal launch will
be in September in which all the exhibitors (you) will be invited. This will
be the main event to publicise the exhibition.
You can visit the Observatory from this weekend onwards to see the exhibited
photos if you want to see it before the formal launch in September.
I'll post pictures and other information after the event on Friday.
