Thanks fellas, the Mintron/GStar-Ex is a great cam as it requires no autoguiding but you need to stack an awful lot to get smooth images (1000 for luminance and 300 each for RGB would be better) because its an uncooled 8bit cam. You can wrap an ice gel pack around but a dark frame gets rid of the numerous hot pixels and it has many - I process in Registax5.
6818 - RGB 300 each of 2.5sec.
Lagoon - UHC 500 RGB 100each.
M22 a quick 200 each RGB.
Here are some images I took when I lived in the UK, even though images are quick (about 1 hour for each - 2.5sec subs) and noisy they still show great detail and with UK weather speed is a must.
This CCD will make a great meteor cam with an 8.5mm lens I have, could give Perseids ago but a bit low so perhaps Geminids would be better?
Regards, JohnH.
